In November 2014, Indonesia’s fi nancial services authority, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK), took two important actions in an endeavor to strengthen the Islamic banking industry in the country. The fi rst was the signing of an agreement with the Republic’s national Shariah board, known in Indonesia as Dewan Syariah Nasional (DSN), on the 11th November 2014, to strengthen oversight of the Islamic finance industry.
