Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has recently issued a regulation allowing investment management companies to invest between 51% and 100% of their Shariah mutual funds in Shariah compliant foreign securities — whether Sukuk or shares. This regulation is contained in the OJK regulation No. 19/POJK.04/2015 on the issuance and requirements of Shariah mutual funds as put in articles 30 to 34 of Chapter VI.
